    Symone Roberts, Counselor Intern,
    Supervised by Regina Buchanan, LPC-S.

I am a Counselor Intern, completing my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Baptist University. I was born in Kansas City, MO and raised in Houston, Tx. I relocated to the DFW area to obtain my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Human and Developmental Family Studies from the University of North Texas. I have experience in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis, assisting children and families cope with life on the autism spectrum. I also have experience working with adolescents and adults overcome eating disorders.

My passion for today’s youth has opened my eyes to how challenging it can be to discover who you are. Is your automatic reaction to compare yourself to others? As Today’s upcoming generation, you are a new type of innovator and self-starter. You have access to tools and opportunities that previous generations did not. If you find it difficult to cope with the opinions and expectations of family, friends, or even social media followers my hope is to work with you. Our sessions will help you build self-confidence and gain self-awareness in these new spaces you are exploring. We will identify ways to cope with stress and anxiety and practice time management skills that will be useful in navigating college or life after high school.

Regardless of what brings you to this webpage, I commend you for considering therapy. Epictetus once said: “First say to yourself what you would be; and then do what you have to do.” Whether you find yourself in the “doing what you have to do” phase or the, discovering “what you would be” phase, it would be an honor of mine to walk with you along your journey.
